Co-development

Develop what APD makes possible, with us

Palitra turns new product ideas into parts that conventional 3D printing can't make. We develop applications with partners using APD, then license the process to take them to production.

How we work

Three steps from idea to license

01

Feasibility

We print your application with APD and test it against your requirements.

A short, defined study on your part or test geometry. You see printed samples and test results before committing to more.

02

Joint development

We adapt inks, materials and process settings to your product and production setup.

Inks, base polymer, process settings and slicing are adapted to your product. Results and the path to production are planned together.

03

License

You license the APD patents and know-how for your field of use.

A license to the APD patents and know-how for your field of use, so you can take the application to production.

Six development areas

Each area builds on Palitra's APD process patents and on the same jetting step that delivers today's five capabilities. None is offered as a finished capability yet. We share current status and results with prospective partners in conversation.

Open for development

Conductive traces and antennas

Conductive ink placed inside the part for circuits, heaters, sensors and antennas, routed where the design needs them.

Why APD suits it
The printhead places ink at voxel resolution inside each layer, so a trace can follow the part geometry in three dimensions instead of sitting on a board or a surface.
Who we want to hear from
Conductive ink developers, electronics and antenna designers, and companies with a part that needs built-in wiring or sensing.

Dielectric layers

Zones with tailored dielectric properties for RF components and electrical insulation, built into the part.

Why APD suits it
Jetted inks change the material locally, so insulating or RF-relevant zones can sit exactly where the field or the conductor runs.
Who we want to hear from
RF and antenna engineers, research labs with dielectric measurement capability, and material suppliers.

Surface chemistry

Local surface treatment printed in place: wettability, adhesion or chemical resistance only where it is needed.

Why APD suits it
Ink lands on the cells that form the surface, so one region of a part can be treated differently from the region next to it, without masking or post-processing.
Who we want to hear from
Surface chemistry specialists, medical and lab device makers, and companies that bond, coat or seal printed parts.

Joining dissimilar polymers

Compatibilizing inks at the interface, so polymers that normally do not bond can be joined in one build.

Why APD suits it
The same jetting step that improves bonding between layers of one polymer can place a compatibilizer exactly at the boundary between two different ones.
Who we want to hear from
Polymer and compatibilizer suppliers, and product teams that today assemble or overmold two materials.

Tuned stiffness

Soft and rigid zones in one part from one base material, for grippers, seals and damping.

Why APD suits it
Ink that softens or stiffens the polymer can be placed voxel by voxel, so stiffness changes inside the part without switching materials.
Who we want to hear from
Robotics, sealing and damping applications, and material suppliers with plasticizers or modifiers.

Biological and pharmaceutical agents

Active agents placed voxel by voxel, for devices that carry or release them in defined zones.

Why APD suits it
The printhead can place small volumes of a functional fluid exactly where it is needed inside a polymer part, layer by layer.
Who we want to hear from
Medical device and pharmaceutical developers, and research groups working on controlled release.

Application areas

Where APD parts are used

  • Tooling
  • Jigs and fixtures
  • Quality control and traceability
  • Medical and pre-clinical models
  • Packaging and product design
  • Consumer products

Something else in mind? Most projects start with a part that is hard to make today.

Bring us a part problem

Describe the part, what it needs to do, and what makes it hard to make today. We reply with whether APD fits and what a feasibility study would cover.
